Community Coach Certification Course Offered

At

2008 JOAD Nationals in Oklahoma City

July 9th and 10th

The Community Coach Certification Course is a joint effort between the Archery Shooters Association (ASA) and USA Archery (USAA) to train and certify archery coaches at the community level who can then work with archery clubs, shops, ranges and community organizations to advance and grow the sport.  The Community Coach Certification Course will now be the basic level coaching certification course for the ASA and USAA.

The Community Coach Course bridges the gap between Intermediate Instructor and Level III Coach.  Community coaches are trained and certified to work with individuals, groups and teams to help them perfect their shooting form, master the mental game, understand and use the Biomechanicaly Efficient Shooting Technique (BEST Method), develop archery training plans, prepare for competitions and much more.  The Community Coach Certification Course will be taught immediately prior to the JOAD Nationals.  The course will also be held at designated ASA Pro/Am tournaments. Visit the ASA website www.asaarchery.com for details on those courses.

The Community Coach Certification Course will be held July 9th and 10th at a location near the JOAD National Venue and the course fee of $250.00 includes the cost of course materials. We will take a long lunch on Thursday for those coaches who have archers practicing for the tournament. Payment may be made at the beginning of the course, but attendees must pre-register no later than the Monday before the course to reserve a seat.  Instructors wishing to attend must have held an Intermediate Instructor certification from any archery organization, or an NASP Basic Archery Instructor Trainer (BAIT) rating, for at least one year.  Instructors who hold a Basic Instructor rating from any archery organization, or an NASP Basic Archery Instructor (BAI) rating, and are performing instructor work that is equivalent to that of an Intermediate Instructor may attend with prior approval.  This experience must be verified before the registration will be accepted.

Community Coach Certification Course candidates must be members of the ASA or USA Archery.  Attendees must present proof of membership at the beginning of the course or complete a membership application before the start of class.  For more information contact Steven Cornell at 513-755-2444 (Home) or 513-302-6596 (Cell).
